Presentation Guidelines – NIER Conference

All participants presenting at a NIER Conference are expected to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a smooth, professional, and consistent presentation experience.

Oral Presentation

  • Duration: 10 minutes for presentation, followed by 2 minutes for Q&A.
  • Presenter: Must be one of the authors or co-authors of the submitted paper.
  • Equipment: Presenters may use their own laptops or venue-provided systems.
  • Recommended Setup: Microsoft PowerPoint on Windows OS for optimal compatibility.
  • File Format: .ppt, .pptx, or .pdf formats are preferred.
  • Support: Technical staff will be available on-site for assistance with setup and transitions.

Poster Presentation

  • Poster Size: 36 inches wide × 48 inches high (portrait orientation).
  • Preparation: Presenters must print and bring their own posters to the venue.
  • Setup: Posters should be installed prior to the official opening ceremony.
  • Display Area: Posters will be displayed in a designated area throughout the session.
  • Presenter Availability: At least one author must be present during the poster session.
  • Takedown: Posters should be removed promptly after the session concludes

Virtual Presentation

  • Duration: 10-minute presentation followed by 2-minute Q&A.
  • Platform: All virtual sessions will be hosted via Zoom.
  • Technical Check: Presenters are expected to test their microphone, camera, and slides in advance.
  • Login Time: Presenters must join at least 30 minutes before their scheduled session.
  • Slide Submission: Presentation files should be shared in advance to avoid technical delays.

Video Presentation

  • Duration: Maximum 10 minutes.
  • Format: Submit in MP4 or MOV format with clear audio and high-quality visuals.
  • Deadline: Submit at least 5 days before the conference date.
  • Content Requirements:
    • Introduction, research objectives, methodology, results, and conclusion
    • Maintain professional tone and clear narration
    • Screen recording with or without presenter video is acceptable
  • Live Q&A: Presenter (or delegate) must be available during playback for a 2-minute live Q&A.
  • Backup: Slides should be submitted along with the video as a reference

General Presentation Tips

  • Keep slides clear, concise, and visually engaging.
  • Structure your content: Introduction → Methods → Results → Conclusion.
  • Use visuals (charts, graphs, images) to support key messages.
  • Practice to ensure smooth delivery within the time limit.
  • Test all technical equipment beforehand.
